MYDIN Deploys LEAFIO AI Inventory Optimization Across Its Malaysian Retail Network to Automate Demand-Driven Replenishment

Mydin Mohamed Holdings Berhad (MYDIN), one of Malaysia’s largest homegrown halal wholesale and retail chains, has completed the initial implementation phase of LEAFIO Inventory Optimization. MYDIN operates a nationwide network of 101 stores and three distribution centers across Malaysia. The deployment automates daily replenishment and demand forecasting for FMCG, fresh, and non-FMCG product categories. MYDIN transitioned from its legacy solution to LEAFIO AI, moving away from a system that required a team of over 40 people handling largely manual processes for inventory management, with ongoing licensing and upgrade costs that grew increasingly difficult to justify at scale.

Deployment automates demand-driven replenishment across FMCG, fresh, and non-FMCG categories, covering approximately 40,000 SKUs, for MYDIN, a nationwide retailer operating 101 stores and three distribution centers.

MYDIN evaluated multiple global providers before selecting LEAFIO AI, prioritizing three capabilities: automated replenishment consolidated onto a single platform, robust handling of fresh categories with high demand volatility, and the ability to tailor forecasting logic to new-product and new-store introduction scenarios. Under the previous setup, abnormal demand spikes required manual correction, and non-FMCG categories received limited system-driven support. The engagement was scoped through an onsite visit to MYDIN’s operations by the LEAFIO AI implementation team, enabling direct configuration of the system to MYDIN’s specific supplier and category constraints.

LEAFIO AI’s implementation was delivered in partnership with ActionFi, a regional SAP implementation partner, ensuring integration with MYDIN’s existing SAP environment.

Early operational feedback from newly opened outlets already points in the expected direction: availability and new-branch order accuracy are both outperforming the retailer’s pre-deployment baseline. MYDIN anticipates these gains extending across its broader store network as the rollout continues and the formal measurement period concludes.
