LEAFIO SuperApp: Reinventing Retail Execution on the Ground

When we first introduced the LEAFIO SuperApp last year, we called it a multifunctional retail execution tool—but in truth, it’s become much more than that. Designed to work both as a standalone app and as an extension of the LEAFIO AI Retail Platform, the SuperApp brings data, communication, and execution together into one seamless mobile experience.

It’s the tool that puts retail management quite literally in your pocket. Here’s what it offers out of the box:

• Intelligent Barcode Scanner –. Get instant access to everything you need to know about items—prices, stock levels, sales dynamics, and pending deliveries—right at the shelf, all in one click.
• Dashboard with Inventory KPIs – View necessary data segmented by stores and product categories.
• Task Manager – Create, assign, and track store tasks with deadlines, checklists, photo reports, and progress bars.

At its core, the LEAFIO SuperApp was built to solve the day-to-day challenges retail staff face on the ground. Whether it’s verifying inventory, executing planograms, or tracking operational tasks, store teams need reliable data and clear instructions—and they need them fast.

Imagine a store associate walking down the beverage aisle with questions like: Is this product correctly priced? Do we have stock in the back? Why is this top-seller not moving?

With the built-in barcode scanner, they can instantly scan a product, check the current inventory level, see expected deliveries, and even review a two-month sales graph to spot trends or explain why a popular item isn’t moving. No more guesswork or phone calls to the back office—everything they need is right there in the app.

And when it comes to stocktaking, the SuperApp streamlines the entire process. Staff can walk through the store, scanning items as they go. Every scan updates the central database, drastically reducing errors and eliminating the need for manual data entry after the fact. It’s quicker, cleaner, and far more accurate than traditional paper-based counts.

The SuperApp’s dashboard has also undergone a major upgrade. With improved segmentation by store and product category, managers can now analyze inventory KPIs at a much more granular level. 

For example, a regional manager responsible for ten stores can instantly compare product performance in urban locations versus suburban ones, or see which product groups are consistently underperforming. The new, cleaner interface helps them quickly find what matters—and take action faster.

But perhaps the biggest leap in functionality came with the expansion of the Task Manager. Launched in late 2024, it allows users to create and assign tasks with a deadline, description, and checklist, across multiple locations or team members.

For example, a head office category manager can assign a high-priority display update to 50 stores and track progress centrally. Store managers receive the task in-app, complete it, attach photos, and mark it done—while leadership sees completion metrics roll in live.

More recent updates introduced:

• Photo reporting; 
• Gallery views of all photo attachments across subtasks;
• Comment threads for collaboration;
• Push notifications for urgent updates; 
• Re-open options for closed tasks; 
• Role-based assignments.

Tasks can now be office-focused or store-level, and there’s even a visual progress bar to track how much of a parent task has been completed.

Looking ahead, we’re doubling down on field usability and intelligent automation. One of the most anticipated features is daily product insights driven by Inventory Optimization. Instead of waiting for problems to bubble up, store teams will receive a daily checklist of items flagged by the system—such as high-value promotional products sitting unsold, or top sellers showing suspicious stock levels. Teams can check, scan, and resolve the issue on the spot—closing the loop between analytics and execution.

We’re also enhancing checklists with GPS-based inspections, allowing teams to complete store audits tied to location data, answer flexible question formats, and attach photos for each point of the inspection. 

And for more complex task management, we’re introducing new user roles like "observer" and a task verification flow to ensure quality control before closure.
